Demon Slayer's Entertainment District Arc Finally Gets Toonami Release Date

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Entertainment District Arc's Toonami release date has been officially revealed.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba's latest season hits Toonami on Jan. 13, 2024. The official X (formerly Twitter) account for the anime announced the news on Nov. 18. The Entertainment District Arc covers the second part of Demon Slayer Season 2, which spanned from Oct. 2021 to Feb. 2022, immediately following the Mugen Train Arc. Aimer performs both the opening and ending themes, "Zankyo Sanka" and "Asa ga Kuru," respectively.

Also revealed to be coming to Toonami in the new year is Lycoris Recoil, which lands on Jan. 20, 2024. The popular action anime features the government-sponsored spy force 'Lycoris' and first aired in July 2022 for 13 episodes. In recent times, Toonami has seen the premiere of Immortal Grand Prix as well as the last of its involvement in the FLCL franchise, with the latest and final FLCL Shoegaze ending in October.

The news marked a welcome announcement for Demon Slayer fans, who got the first season in October 2019 before the Mugen Train Arc in early November 2023. Next for the series is the upcoming fourth season, the Hashira Training Arc, first announced in June 2023. New information for Season 4 will be revealed in mid-December.

Demon Slayer adapts the Koyoharu Gotouge's manga of the same name, published in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump. Season 4 news will be quickly followed by big reveals regarding other Shonen Jump titles. Jump Festa 2024 will return from Dec. 16-17, with last year's event seing the announcements of Mission: Yozakura Family and the Spy x Family Code: White film. Both have released more information in recent weeks.

Crunchyroll streams Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Entertainment District Arc and describes it as follows: "After an emotional mission aboard the Mugen Train, Tanjiro and his comrades join Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui on a mission in a city that shines brightly in the night: the Entertainment District. They soon learn that Uzui has lost contact with his three wives, who infiltrated the Entertainment District to gather information after suspecting demons may be inhabiting the city. Hoping to discover their whereabouts, Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke begin their investigation…"
