Oshi no Ko's Amazon Live-Action TV Series & Movie Remains Set for a Winter Release

In addition to a new anime season, Oshi no Ko is also receiving a live-action movie and TV series from Toei and Amazon. Both projects will be available worldwide on Amazon's Prime Video service and are aiming for a release this winter. Mengo Yokoyari, the artist behind Oshi no Ko, will not be involved with the live-action adaptation. However, Yokoyari said she left everything in the trust of the live-action staff and is excited to see how the project turns out from a viewer's perspective. Aka Akasaka, the author of Oshi no Ko, simply expressed shock that Toei and Amazon were interested in the series given its harsh critique of the entertainment industry.

Since its 2023 premiere, Oshi no Ko has taken the world by storm with its enthralling storyline regarding the death of Ai Hoshino, and her children trying to live up to her legacy while solving the murder. The first episode of Oshi no Ko was lauded so loudly that it temporarily dethroned Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood as the best-rated anime series. Frieren: Beyond Journey's End now holds that title.

Oshi no Ko Season 1 can currently be streamed on HIDIVE.
