One Piece: Ranking The Straw Hats By Their Training During The Time-Skip

The first half of One Piece came to a conclusion with the massive Paramount War that ensued at Marineford between the Whitebeard Pirates and the collaboration of the Navy and the Shichibukai. The war came to an with the death of Portgas D. Ace and Whitebeard and changed the era forever.

Following the events of the war, Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates began their training across the world to get stronger so they could get ready for the dangerous enemies New World. Here are the Straw Hat Pirates ranked by how hard they trained during the time-skip.

9 Brook

The musician of the Straw Hat Pirates, Brook was one of the crew members who trained the least during the time-skip. Most of his time was spent building a reputation for himself as Soul King.

That's not to say that Brook didn't get stronger, however. He learned several new applications of his Yomi Yomi no Mi, such as detaching his soul from his body and summoning the cold of the underworld. All things considered, Brook progressed quite a lot during the two years.

8 Chopper

Chopper is the doctor of the Straw Hat Pirates with a bounty of 50 berries before the time-skip. During the two-year training, Chopper worked on Torino Kingdom and learned advanced medicinal knowledge there which helped him become a better doctor than he was before.

In terms of strength, Chopper managed to make his points stronger and also gain a new transformation in Kung Fu Point. Furthermore, he gained control over his Monster Point as well.

7 Nico Robin

Also known as the Light of the Revolution, Nico Robin is the archaeologist of the Straw Hat Pirates. She spent her two years with the Revolutionary Army at Baltigo. What exactly Robin did there with Dragon isn't known, however, it is likely to do with the Void Century.

Robin also progressed in terms of strength during the time-skip. She managed to improve the usage of her Hana Hana no Mi and could produce a thousand limbs at once instead of a hundred. In theory, Robin got ten times stronger after the time-skip.

6 Usopp

Spending his two years at the Boin Archipelago was the sniper of the crew, Usopp. Under the tutelage of Heracles, Usopp was able to gain a lot of physical strength necessary to survive in a place as difficult as the archipelago.

Usopp also managed to study the pop green there and use them with his sniping arsenal. After the time-skip, he became powerful enough to take on most threats that he would've struggled to deal with before the time-skip.

5 Nami

Nami was sent to a sky island called Weatheria by Bartholomew Kuma before the time-skip. After receiving Luffy's message, she decided to stay there and study the weather and the various scientific methods that the people of the place used.

Nami greatly enhanced her knowledge of weather and what's more, she was able to fit her Clima Tact with some great bits of technology, thanks to Usopp's help. Just like the other members of the crew, Nami was several times stronger after the time-skip.

4 Franky

Also known as "Cyborg," Franky is the shipwright of the crew and he was sent to Karakuri Island by Bartholomew Kuma. There, he discovered Vegapunk's old lab and managed to make quite a lot of upgrades to his body.

Franky has become incredibly powerful after the time-skip and has gained access to abilities such as the Radical Beam, which is powerful enough to take down even an Ancient Giant in a single hit. It goes without saying that Franky is among the strongest in the crew right now.

3 Sanji

Sanji spent his two years at Momoiro Island where he got several times stronger while trying to get access to the Newkama recipes. He managed to awaken his Haki during the two years he spent there and greatly boosted his physical prowess.

Furthermore, Sanji also gained the ability to walk in the air at high speeds and swim in the water faster than a Fishman. All that, combined with his improved usage of Diable Jambe, makes his training one of the most impressive ones in the lot.

2 Zoro

Shichibukai Bartholomew Kuma sent Zoro to Kuraigana Island, where the World's Strongest Swordsman, Dracule Mihawk resided. The two years that Zoro had to his disposal were spent honing his skill under Mihawk's guidance.

Like Sanji, he managed to learn the basics of Haki and improved his swordsmanship skills greatly. After the time-skip, Zoro has become several times stronger than he was before and is powerful enough to take on some incredibly powerful opponents.

1 Monkey D. Luffy

Luffy's two years were spent on Ruskaina, also known as the island of 48 seasons. There, Luffy had to wrestle with incredibly powerful beasts, most of which forced him to get stronger.

Thanks to Rayleigh, Luffy learned the basics of all three Haki types. Training them to a decent level, Luffy had become quite strong. Luffy mastered his usage of Gear Second and Gear Third, and to top everything off, he learned Gear Fourth, a new form with several transformations available.
