The world of Jujutsu Kaisen is about to get a crossover of sorts with My Hero Academia, as the Japanese voice actor behind one of the latter's most iconic characters has been cast as JJK's new villain.
The voice actor is Kenta Miyake, who has voiced characters in numerous anime series over the years but is arguably most famous for his role as the former No.1 Pro Hero, All Might, in My Hero Academia. However, in the world of Jujutsu Kaisen, he'll be playing a much different role, as he's been announced as the voice of the villain Dagon in the show -- one of many cursed spirits that the world's sorcerers have to deal with.
Dagon Will Show All His Might in Jujutsu Kaisen
Specifically, Dagon is a special-grade cursed spirit born out of people's fears of water-based natural disasters such as floods and tidal waves. In the Jujutsu Kaisen manga, he's an ally to both Jogo and Hanami and, for a time, is defined as a rather docile cursed spirit. Initially, he only kills people when asked to by others and simply maintains their domain while the other two "work." However, after the death of Hanami, Dagon grows into a more violent and powerful form.
In his new form, which many say resembles Cthulhu, Dagon has incredible control over water and can also generate it, so he's never without it. He becomes so strong that he kills many non-sorcerers in the Jujutsu Kaisen world and even impresses characters like Maki with his abilities. Furthermore, his domain expansion technique guarantees a hit on foes no matter who they are, making him incredibly difficult to defeat.
While Jujutsu Kaisen fans will be excited to see Dagon's arrival in the anime, those who have been paying attention to the manga know that things are getting very intense. For example, a recent chapter highlighted the shocking death of Satoru Gojo during his fight with Sukuna. Gojo was hailed as the strongest in the world, and so "broken" in his techniques that it seemed no one could stop him, not even Sukuna. However, with the strongest now out of the fight, others like Itadori must step up to save the world.
