Attack on Titan Counts Down to Finale With Ominous Artwork

Attack on Titan has released striking new artwork promoting the anime's upcoming conclusion.

The visual, which was featured on AoT's official X (formerly Twitter) page, depicts Eren Jaeger standing alongside Ymir Fritz, the human who first took on Titan powers. In the series, she is also known as "The Founding Titan," from which the core nine titans were born. Kenta Ueda, a member of the production team for Attack on Titan: The Final Season, created the illustration to highlight the 10-day countdown to the anime's finale, which is scheduled to debut at midnight on Nov. 4 (JST).

After nearly a decade since its 2013 debut, the Attack on Titan anime is finally approaching its long-awaited climax. Based on Hajime Isayama's hit manga, the series chronicles humanity's desperate efforts to survive in a world dominated by bloodthirsty giants called Titans. Part 1 detailed the tragic fallout of The Rumbling, a cataclysmic event triggered by series' main Eren Jaeger in order to end humanity's cyclic wars. Now, Armin, Mikasa and their fellow Survey Corps members must confront Eren, who has taken on a terrifying new form, in order to end the conflict once and for all. In September, Attack on Titan: The Final Season released a new trailer for the episode, which showcases part of the thrilling final showdown.

To commemorate the anime's historic conclusion, animation studio MAPPA is hosting a worldwide after-party event directly after the premiere. This celebratory livestream will feature appearances from several key staff members, including Wit Studio director Tetsuro Araki, MAPPA studio director Yuichiro Hayashi and music composer Hiroyuki Sawano, among others. There will also be interviews with AoT voice actors such as Yuki Kaji (Eren Jaeger), Yui Ishikawa (Mikasa Ackermann) and Marina Inoue (Armin Arlert), who will share experiences they've had while working on the iconic dark shonen title.

While Attack on Titan fans will undoubtedly mourn the anime's ending, Attack on Titan creator Hajime Isayama is releasing brand-new manga content for the series. An upcoming made-to-order art book, titled Attack on Titan: Art Book FLY, will include all of Isayama's full-color illustrations for AoT, in addition to a special bonus chapter of Attack on Titan produced specifically for the book. Those who wish to receive a copy are required to reserve it ahead of the book's official release date, which is scheduled for Nov. 30 in Japan.

Attack on Titan: The Final Season - The Final Chapters Part 2 will debut on Nov. 4. The entire series, including The Final Chapters - Part 1, is available on Hulu and Crunchyroll.
