Hunter x Hunter Creator Reveals Promising Update in New Image

Hunter x Hunter manga creator Yoshihiro Togashi set social media buzzing recently when he indicated that he was returning to work on the manga after a long period of inactivity since its previous publication.

Togashi posted an image of a draft manuscript for Hunter x Hunter, captioning it, "No405, I'm working on it. Moon Healing Escalation!" which seems to be the title of Chapter 405. Naturally, fans were ecstatic to learn that the series was still being worked on. Readers can check out the image and general reaction below.

Yoshihiro Togashi's Hunter x Hunter Manga Has Been on Hiatus for 494 Days

Notably, Hunter x Hunter went on hiatus 494 days ago with Chapter 400 (via Hiatus x Hiatus). Rather than Togashi simply resuming work on the series, his post suggests that he's been working on it for some time, having completed four chapters since then. His manga was previously serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump, which confirmed that Hunter x Hunter would move to a new format, more suitable for Togashi's workflow and health. Togashi similarly made waves on social media after posting "Start Over" on X. He had completed Chapter 401 by then, highlighting, "Although the production system has not been finalized yet, I'm happy that the time spent working at my desk has been gradually increasing."

Hunter x Hunter's First Console Game Releases Official Gameplay

It's unclear if fans will see a Hunter x Hunter return this year. Nevertheless, there remains a lot for fans to look ahead to. Marvel vs. Capcom 3 developers Eighting have given the release date for Hunter x Hunter Nen x Impact -- the series' first console game -- and released official gameplay from the demo version, which can be seen below. Numerous clothing collaborations have also been announced, with Hunter x Hunter teaming up with Reebok on a new sneaker line.

VIZ licenses the Hunter x Hunter manga in North America, describing the first volume: "Gon might be a country boy, but he has high aspirations. Despite his Aunt Mito's protests, Gon decides to follow in his father's footsteps and become a legendary Hunter. The Hunter hopefuls begin their journey by storm-tossed ship, where Gon meets Leorio and Kurapika, the only other applicants who aren't devastated by bouts of seasickness. Having survived the terrors of the high seas, Gon and his companions now have to prove their worth in a variety of tests in order to find the elusive Exam Hall. And once they get there, will they ever leave alive...?"
